having too high expectations
Well last night I was at the Rocket Rooms five year anniversary party and I had far too high expectations on some of the acts they had booked. Well I met up with my best pal for dinner 'n beer before the show and he had been to Big Jeff's Rockabilly Hangout earlier in the week and he had met someone who told him that all acts was only gonna play two songs each. And that kind of bum me out because I had been looking forward to see Riley McOwen's comeback gig for months only to find out he would play only two songs and that he would be play with a big band. It was still an good show overall but I was expecting a great show so it was kind of a let down. And there was allot of people who had no f#ckin' clue to what kind of music or culture that the club "represents". So they asked stupid questions like :How does your hair get that shine? and :What is the music called? so I wonder why are they there ?. Why would you attend a show if you don't know what kind of music is gonna be played? And why are people amazed by pomade?. But the good things on the show was Sonny Rogers doin' the old Carl Mann tune I'm comin' home. And Lilly Mae was absolutely amazing she did Voodoo and This little girl's gone rockin' that girl's got a voice of an angel it's an pure delight too hear her sing. I didn't stay too the bitter end because I drank a few beers to many so didn't see Howlin' Pelle but I saw all other acts and my best pal said that he was pretty bad so don't think I missed out on anything. But I'm looking forward to Live and Jive next month and the next Rocket Room show. Cause I'll go Rockin' n' a Rollin'

Well the day has finally arrived right now I'm sittin' drinkin' a Cuba Libre and listening to Rock 'n Roll life don't get much better then that folks. And in a few hours I'll be Rockin' 'n Rollin' at the best Rock 'n Roll club in Sweden. I super exited about gettin' to see Riley McOwen's comback show. And I'll bet miss Smokie is a little jealous about not gettin' to see Howlin' Pelle's gig tonight. Well soon of to dine at the famous Ruby Grill here in the capitol. And I'll leave you with this words: I'm hopin' 'n prayin' that I never grow old ;-)

A good mind gone berserk
Got my hair cut today by the best barber in the north "Anders" and we started to talk about starting up a Rock 'n Roll club here in Umeå. So he's gonna start to look after good location to hold it in. And we are planing to start up next fall and do it on a monthly basis until the spring. So today I have started looking for bands for the eight shows ;-). Like a rockin' rock 'n a rollin' stone we are rollin' along

Blast from the past, Rave from the grave
Was one h#ll of a record. I believe it was a bootleg but it still rule. A lot of obscure songs on that one like Lynn Pratt's Come Here Mama. Real Honky tonk music at it's best up tempo C & W songs rule over all else at this moment. There is an awesome amount of up tempo C & W songs recorded in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. After that C & W became sh#t. I have been listing to a whole lotta old C & W songs this week with artists like Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, Bill Lister, Benny Barnes, Johnny Horton, Harold Jenkins, and the C & W recordings of Jerry Lee Lewis. Who is an vastly underestimated C & W singer he does an excellent version of Cold Cold Heart among others. And his C & W hits Another Place Another Time and What Made Milwaukee Famous are equally excellent songs. Many in todays "Rock 'n Roll" scene seems to don't appreciate old classic C & W but instead play that Punk/Psychobilly crap. But I wanna throw a punch for old classic C & W music which is a corner stone in Rock 'n Roll!, And as added bonus I will throw in some C & W music
FERLIN HUSKY
FARON YOUNG
BENNY BARNES
HAROLD JENKINS

Changing the language per request
Well I decided to change the langues to English after a request from a reader who got tired of using the translation tool. He said it didn't translate right so he begged me to write in English instead so I obliged him.
Back in the 50's they used to call Honky tonk song/music for Beer drinking songs so I thought I try to find some "Beer drinking songs"
Back in the 50's they used to call Honky tonk song/music for Beer drinking songs so I thought I try to find some "Beer drinking songs"
Big Bill Lister - There Is A Tear In My Beer
James Mask - Beer Drinkin' Blues
Gene Simmons - Drinkin' Scotch
Jim Brown - Pop A Top
Well I didn't find all the songs I was looking but there is a bunch of Honky tonk, Rock 'n Roll songs that's about drinking 'n being drunk as a skunk. And it's a known fact that many great Honky tonk, Rock 'n Roll heroes have died of alcohol related death's. So drinkin' goes hand in hand with Rock 'n Roll

Jan "Widlfire Willie" Svensson
